Punta Mita oceanfront villa

Big enough for a group, quiet enough for a novel.

Casa La Vida sits in La Punta Estates, on the oceanfront inside the gated Punta Mita resort. A long, deep-blue infinity pool runs the length of the lawn, with a hot tub at one end and the whole Bay of Banderas — Puerto Vallarta and the Sierra Madre behind it — across the water.

Ten thousand square feet of house is shaped for both moods: peaceful alcoves and balconies for reading and morning coffee, and big shared spaces — the arched terrace, the double-height living room, the media room — for long dinners and game nights. Glass walls slide back to let the sea air in.

The Ocean & Punta Mita

The bay in front, the resort around you.

The house faces across the Bay of Banderas. From roughly November to April humpback whales come into the bay to calve, often within sight of the terrace; the concierge can book a boat for a closer look, or out to the Marietas Islands.

Inside the gates, Punta Mita has two Jack Nicklaus golf courses, beach clubs and the Four Seasons and St. Regis hotels — and water known for paddle boarding and surfing.
